The Great Gatsby is a 2013 Australian-America 3D drama film based on F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s 1925 novel. This film narrates the story of a millionaire Jay Gatsby and his neighbor Nick. The story takes it turn after their encounter at the party organised by Gatsby at his mansion.
The story is happening during the roaring twenties. Baz Luhrmann’s direction is appreciable; he has shown how the 20’s life in New York looked like. The movie is definitely a feast to the eyes. For Jay Gatsby’s mansion they used the college building of The International College of Management, Sydney. The interior of the mansion is something commendable, especially on the day of party. The loud rich colors used throughout made the party sequence perfect. The house next to the mansion was the right one to one’s imagination, in which Nick lives.

Even the costume has been taken care of very efficiently. The film portrayed the 20’s look very well. Though the costume wasn’t as authentic as it should be, it is slightly a modern version of 1920’s.
Through his designs, the director took us to an entirely different era, the 20’s. The important fact about the movie is that it is visually appealing in every way possible. They have also showed the making of railway tracks just like the 20’s when it started building. Also you get to see the vehicles, luxury cars of that time in which the Jay Gatsby and Tom drives.
